The Voyage of the Dawn Treader is essentially a set of vignettes connected only by our intrepid explorers (King Caspian and his crew, Lucy and Edmund Pevensie, and their bratty cousin Eustace Scrubb) as they voyage east in search of the seven lost Lords of Narnia. The strictly linear plot (this happened, then this happened, then this happened, etc.) robs the story of any true sense of drama, but wonderfully imaginative storytelling and solid writing make this Chronicle a treat to read.
