When Clockwork Architecture + Design brought me into a proposal for a mixed-use development at 1650 Broadway in Kansas City, the architects already had renderings, floor plans, and a vision for the building, including a Moxy hotel. What they needed was a name, an identity, and a story to bring it all together.

The development's location between the Crossroads Arts District and the historic Westside became the foundation for Allé. Rather than focusing solely on the building and its amenities, I developed a concept that treated the surrounding neighborhoods as amenities themselves—the restaurants, galleries, shops, and character of the city just outside its doors. The name, logo, and accompanying narrative gave the proposal an identity rooted as much in its location as in the architecture itself.
